13 Best Milos Beaches you must visit [2025]

Milos beaches are unique in their diversity, beauty, and uniqueness. Like the volcanic Greek islands of Santorini and Folegandros in their stark beauty, but here the best beaches are also found in hidden former pirate coves and tiny fishing villages. Here’s a comprehensive guide to the best 13 Milos Beaches.

The Layout of Milos Island

Milos is a volcanic island and it is one of the best European beach destinations.

Because of the volcanic background of Milos and the unique geology that has shaped the coastline of the island, there are so many beaches, all different watercolors, and all different combinations of sand, stone, and shell.

Amazing beaches are found on the northern and southern side of the island, each one with special characteristics.

The capital of Milos is Plaka which is built on a hill and is an extension of the castle district in Milos, Kastro. The castle offers a unique view and is one of the most beautiful sunsets in the Aegean.

Cubic white houses crouch together and narrow charming paths give you the feeling of Cycladic architecture.

Adamas village is the port of Milos and it is one of the biggest settlements in Milos.

It offers tourist facilities such as restaurants, bars, cafes, a few supermarkets, souvenir shops, ATV and rental car companies, travel agencies, and laundry services.

The most common way to explore the most impressive beaches is by sea, so from Adamas you can find many Milos boat tours.

Access to Tsigrado Beach is difficult because you have to go down a narrow and steep passage dug into the rock.

Then you have to go down a vertical wooden staircase before finally putting your feet on the sand. Tsigrado is an isolated and secluded beach and it’s an ideal destination for windy days.

4. Sarakiniko Beach

Sarakiniko Beach is one of the most photographed beaches in Greek islands and I think of it as the Queen of all Milos beaches because of its unique lunar landscape, inlets, and caves.

It is located in the northeastern part of the island and it is 3.5 km away from Adamas and 5 km from Plaka.

If you walk along the rocks you can see the famous old Sarakiniko Shipwreck. An old tanker ship that crashed into the rocks during a storm in 2003 has since become a popular tourist attraction.

When the weather is good and the ocean is calm, the Sarakiniko Shipwreck is one of the best spots to snorkel in Milos.
